Project Background

Innovative Design Concept

The design of PEAK’s Prometheus 3D printed shoe draws inspiration from the myth of Prometheus, honoring the great pioneers shared by all cultures. The shoe’s design incorporates 3D printing technology to replicate the interconnected fascia and bones of the human foot, offering a futuristic and technological aesthetic. The shoe features multiple large triangular structures, showcasing PEAK’s signature elements. Utilizing the new PEAK Foot Scan System, users can upload a short video of their foot to generate a highly accurate 3D model and related data. This system, combined with 3D printing technology, allows users to obtain the most revolutionary customized shoes.

Background of PEAK and PollyFab Collaboration

After thoroughly understanding PollyFab’s technological advantages and extensive experience in the footwear industry, the PEAK team became highly interested. A visit to PollyFab’s facilities allowed PEAK to experience its advanced 3D printing materials and efficient production processes firsthand, leading to a decision to adopt PollyFab’s technology, materials, and equipment for producing the Prometheus 3D printed shoes.

3D Printing and Prototype Production

Following numerous discussions and evaluations regarding the Prometheus project, PEAK and PollyFab decided to use HALS Ultra-Fast 3D Printing Technology to create the shoe prototypes. This technology enables designers to quickly iterate designs, ensuring every detail is perfected. The advanced 3D printing technology also makes the prototyping process more efficient and design adjustments more flexible, meeting the current needs of PEAK’s design department.

Testing and Optimization

Once the prototypes were made, PEAK conducted multiple rounds of tests, including comfort, durability, and performance assessments. Based on the test results, designers made several optimizations to ensure the final product met high-quality standards.
